It´s almost 11pm and I still have got no idea of what I am going to write about this week. It ‘l be just three days until the 83rd Annual Academy Awards ceremony, and I’ve just managed to watch a few of the nominated movies, so I guess that it is out of the question making a preview of which are going to be the winners and the losers in the next Sunday show.
On a second thought, I realized that there was no need of doing it, as the winners have long been announced by the media and some movie experts. I mean, 12 nominations can’t be wrong, but just look at what happened to James Cameron’s Avatar last year: He managed to create a phenomenon, but the one who turned blue was himself.
And as 3D motion pictures make their way through theaters all over the world, are the old fashioned 2D movies that are still getting to our hearts. Obviously, I still prefer to get tangled in to a nice screenplay then to get my head dizzy with those freaky special effects. And as I remember, I still have a life: 3D, full HD and with a DTS 7.1 sound system. Look at that, I just found out that I am the producer, writer, director and main performer in my own 29 years long movie. And still have no golden statue.
With this, I wanted to make my own tribute to one of the greatest traditions in the seventh art history, but unfortunately it would take a lifetime to edit, so instead, I have decided that it was a good idea to make this week’s post in the mother language of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
May the best Swan win.
